History

Blashford Manor
Early 19th Century

The house has always been known locally as Blashford Manor although in the strict sense of the word it is not actually a Manor House but a large farmhouse originally built in the Arts and Crafts style during the early part of the 19th century. The original house was added to during the 1950’s.

Having been empty since the early 1980’s the Manor was purchased as a derelict in 2005 and renovation started a few years after. It has been restored over the past years to provide friendly, homely accommodation. All rooms have wifi, modern TV’s. Complementary beverage tray. Fresh crisp bedding and laundry.

Modern Times

Blashford Manor Farm is situated less than 1 mile from Ringwood Market Town, 0.5 mile from the New Forest National Park and just 20 minutes from Bournemouth beaches. We are ideally situated for excursions to the historic towns of Wimborne, Poole, Corfe Castle, Salisbury and the World Heritage coastline of Dorset. If shopping is your thing then Southampton’s famous West Quay shopping centre is just 20 minutes away. Salisbury Plain, Stonehenge and Wood Henge are just ½ hour by car.

Blashford Manor Farm offers characterful holiday lets set within our stable yard. Occasionally we open up the Manor for short term let which has 5 double bedrooms for up to 10 guests. Features include wood burners, a large well-stocked kitchen, garden and hot tub  – please contact us for more details.

One side of the former Stud Yard has been sympathetically renovated to provide 4 unique self catering holiday cottages.

These stable yard cottages retain many original features such as exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings with exposed original beams, and are enhanced by modern touches such as underfloor heating, beautifully appointed bathrooms and kitchens. For those who need to stay connected, free WiFi and FreeSat equipped TV’s are supplied throughout.

These stable yard cottages are available all year for stays of 2 nights or more with significant discounts available for bookings of 7 nights plus.

The internationally famous Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed are only 45 minutes drive and if visiting with your classic car or bike we can offer safe and secure parking.

For those interested in more physical transportation, the Yard has secure storage for mountain bikes, with a free wash down area, and use of pressure washer, so that you do not have to return home with a dirty bike.

The Yard also has a safe area to lock up fishing rods and bait store refrigerator.

If your activities have got you dirty there are free clothes washing and ironing facilities and coin operated tumble drier.

Your Hosts

Kayleigh and Martin

The present owner Martin bought the Manor House in 2006 for his family home. At the time it was quite dilapidated and it took just under 3 years to complete the restoration. He lived there with his two daughters until 2018.

He then turned his attention to the stud farm, stables, yard and the cottage at the front of the property. This took a further 3 years to renovate.

Martin is a keen environmentalist and is proud to say that all the rain water is harvested. He has underground tanks in the court yard which are used for the farm and the farm animals. There are also reusable energy sources.

Martin is a keen gardener who can be found pottering around the poly tunnel where he likes to grow his own fruit and veg. When in season there are always fresh organic vegetables for sale. But his true love is Motorbikes!

This little family-run business is also assisted by his youngest daughter Kayleigh, who joined in September 2019, after leaving a veterinary practice. She has a great love of animals and nature. Kayleigh also enjoys mountain biking and yoga.
